Blackpool Illuminations sees this seaside city of fun still buzzing with excitement and laughter long after other resorts have gone into winter hibernation. At 10 kilometers long and using over one million bulbs, the Blackpool Illuminations are an awesome spectacle. New for 2018 was the Switch-On Golden Circle where a limited number of people will be able to get a close-up view of the show in an exclusive Golden Circle section on the Tower Festival Headland Arena. Due to it's popularity the Golden Circle Tickets are available NOW for 2019.

Following last year’s success, this will be bigger and better offering more chocolatey sensations. There will be a wide range of chocolate-themed stalls including: chocolate sprinkled meat pies, chocolate pizza, chocolate churros, chocolate truffles, chocolate cookies, chocolate ice cream, chocolate fudge, chocolate puddings, chocolate fountain, and more. Guests will be able to sample more goodies and browse handmade stalls by venturing inside The Ballroom, with a Chocolate Gin speciality being served on the balcony outside.

Bringing together some of the most mouthwatering and thirst quenching food and drink for foodies across Cumbria, Taste Cumbria 2019 is returning to bless the taste buds of Cockermouth in one of the county's biggest culinary events. The event has been carefully compiled by Taste Cumbria magazine and Cumbria Life, two major players in the Cumbrian food world, and definitely the right people to organise any event about Cumbrian food! With over 80 stalls and an expected 40,000 attendees, the event is going to be a big one you're not going to want to miss. There will also be a pop-up restaurant with one of the county’s best chefs, demonstrations from some brilliant food and drink experts, a beer festival, comedy night, children’s activities and free town trails to help visitors explore.

Whilst the nights are still dark, Lancaster Walks, Talks & Tours will be hosting evening tours exploring the darker side of Lancaster’s past with tales of ghosts, executions & murders most foul! Due to the nature of some of the stories it is not recommended that children under 12 years of age attend these tours.

Returning for their seventh year over the weekend of Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October 2019, Kendal Wool Gathering mixes demonstrations, fun activities and displays, all connected to the cloth on which the town’s wealth was built. The Gathering has cemented itself as one of the big events of the year in the area, and attracts thousands of visitors from all over the country. Once again, a large number of exhibitors will be bringing a huge variety of goods including yarns, dyes, crafts, art, accessories, tools, felting, crochet, patterns, carpets, looms, spinning wheels and more. Outside there will be livestock, where you can meet a variety of sheep and Llamas, whilst learning about the important Lake District sheep farming industry. There's also walks and talks, demonstrations, Knit and natter groups, Some exhibitors give demonstrations, some let you try your hand, but all are friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The venue once again this year is Kendal Leisure Centre, which is accessible, easy to find, and also with free parking. Fantastically fun, educational and, above all, family-friendly festival, that's not to be missed! They are a not-for-profit event, organised and run by volunteers.

It's back and brighter! Light Up Lancaster originally grew from a partnership between Lancaster’s annual Fireworks Spectacular and a pilot event celebrating art and light, ‘Light Up the Streets’ which took place in 2012. The intention was to create a small but magical, after-dark multi-artform trail the night before the Fireworks Spectacular. The pilot event caught the public imagination and people came in their thousands. A giant fireworks and light show in the the heart of Lancaster - what more could you want on a cold winters night?

Lancashire Day allows us the opportunity to declare that we are proud to be Lancastrians. The Lancashire Day proclamation will be read out by town criers throughout the county on the day. On this day in 1295 the first elected representatives from Lancashire were called to Westminster by King Edward I to attend what later became known as "The Model Parliament".

It's never too early to get excited about Christmas, and with one of the tastiest Christmas festivals coming up - we can't wait! Appearing at the festival will be all your festive favourites, with some new ones to boot. Mince pies, mulled wine, festive fizz, fancy cakes, hot food, cold food, and everything in between - you will find it at Taste Christmas Festival. The event takes place Saturday 7th - Sunday 8th December 2019 at Cockermouth . Expect to see a giant producers’ market with 60 stalls, a hot food court with meals and snacks, and a bar packed with ales and fizz. There will also be plenty of family activities and festive entertainment, with a fairground and Christmassy arts and crafts. The local Christmas Lights will also be twinkling in the background for your day making the festival truly special.

The Garstang Victorian Christmas Festival continues to go from strength to strength and is a well established and permanent fixture on the events calendar in the beautiful ancient market town of Garstang, Lancashire. The Festival takes place on the evenings of the second Monday and Tuesday in December. People from all over the region join locals to enjoy an evening of fun. From 6pm until 9pm the Town Centre is closed to traffic to enable everyone to wander safely, taking in all there is on offer. And there certainly is plenty on offer! There are bands, singers, stilt walkers, Punch and Judy, and all kinds of street entertainment and not forgetting, of course, Santa himself who arrives in style and sets up shop in his grotto on the High Street. Nobody goes hungry either with a vast array of stalls selling everything from Hog Roast and German Sausages, to candy floss and doughnuts. Most of the shops stay open for the evening so you have a chance to get those last minute gifts.

With a series of 24 shows in beautiful cathedrals nationwide, these intimate performances see Jonathan, Lewis, Mike and Nick recall the musical experiences of their childhoods. Expect to hear timeless classics such as When A Child is Born, Silent Night and All I Want For Christmas, as well as delightful medleys to evoke the Christmas spirit, all delivered up-close and personal in some of the UK's most iconic historical venues.

Chorley is famous for its markets, which date back to 1498. The Market runs along Fazakerley Street, a tree-lined pedestrianised area in the heart of the town centre, from 9am until 4pm, on the second Saturday of each month. The stalls will consist of locally produced goods including cakes, preserves, meat and hand finished crafts.
