Hayes Garden World has pulled out all the stops this year to create the perfect winter wonderland. Children can venture to meet Santa at the North Pole - but his train is missing! You must follow Santa's journey along the tracks to discover his journey to Hayes. Along the way you can search for the illusive golden tickets, throw snowballs with the rambunctious snowmen and help our penguins fish for their food. When you finally find Santa's train you can climb aboard the stationary carriage for a fantastic photo opportunity to remember your day out before arriving at Santa's workshop to make some reindeer food for our very hungry reindeers! Your last stop is meeting Father Christmas himself for more photo opportunities, a gift, and book. More details of the event can be found on their website by clicking below...

Back again for another year, Kendal will host the annual UK social gathering for lovers of the great outdoors. The festival takes place over four days. During this time there will be competitions, films, talks, music, and more. This year there will be the ever-popular Bike Night, but joining us this year will be the bigger Snow Sports Night which will celebrate the start of the winter seasons for snow sport enthusiasts in the UK. These nights will feature talks from the pros, demonstrations, and all the know-how you need to improve, or just enjoy your favourite outdoor activity. Last had over 16,000 visitors, they're hoping to knock that out of the park with new dedicated events for children - so make sure to bring the kids! Plus children get free access to Family Adventure Film Screenings - what's not to like? The main aim of Kendal Mountain Festival’s is to inspire more people to explore, enjoy and represent mountains, wilderness and their cultures. We definitely recommend for a great evening with some amazing people.

"Right now, around 85 million people around the world have been made homeless by natural disaster and conflict. We're working to change this. By providing emergency shelter and tools for families robbed of their homes by disaster, we're transforming despair into hope. This event rests upon the idea of climbing into space as indicated by the Karman Line being some 100 km above sea level. A height commonly held to represent the boundary between Earth’s atmosphere and Outer Space. Climbers are invited to come together to ‘Climb to Space’ as a shared fundraising challenge for Shelterbox disaster relief organisation. Challenge yourself to climb 3280 ft (approx 1 km) over the two week challenge period. " Please note: It is not necessary to be able to climb in order to support this event. Donations can be made via their Just Giving Page, and Facebook Page.
